***Meeting Change*** for Jan 25, 2013

We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to many of our partners attending the EITC press conference, and expected inclement weather related to our presenter traveling from Tennessee to Georgia, to be safe we have decided to host our January 25th presentation meeting via webinar instead of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits.

We hope this will be a little more convenient for everyone and the webinar will still take place at the same time: from 9:45 to 11:45 AM (meeting will probably be much shorter depending on discussions and Q & A).

After registering, you will receive a confimation email containing information about joining the webinar.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me at your convenience at: 678-653-5345.
Thank you for your understanding and accommodating the change.
All the Best!

The Chattanooga area coalition is nationally recognized for utilizing innovative programs and events such as Tennessee Saves night at athletic events, high school financial education, and work with low income audiences.

We are launching our campaign and will discuss plans for the first quarter and activities for Metro Atlanta Saves week: February 25 - March 2, 2012

Partner Invitation:

If you haven't partnered with the campaign, we're inviting you to do so. We would love to have you as part of the coalition as well as your participation in Metro Atlanta Saves Week 2013!  We have some exciting plans!

About Metro Atlanta / America Saves Week 2013

 Save the Dates:
February 25 - March 2, 2013

America Saves Week is a national campaign and is coordinated by America Saves and the American Savings Education Council. Started in 2007, the week is an annual opportunity for organizations to promote good savings behavior and a chance for individuals to assess their own saving status. Typically, over 2,000 organizations participate in the week reaching millions of people.

Most Americans are not saving adequetely for retirement, and most lower income households do not have adequate emergency savings for unexpected expenditures like a car repair. But with more societal encouragement and support, more Americans will be persuaded to build wealth, not debt.

Metro Atlanta Saves Week is our local campaign to participate in the week and is an opportunity for your organization to:
  • Take a current initiative and wrap it with Metro Atlanta Saves Week.
  • Participate in Metro Atlanta Saves Week to announce a victory or a new initiative.
  • Utilize the Metro Atlanta Saves platform to support your program.
  • Highlight accomplishments with a press event or announcement.

Click the logo  for more information and to sign up to participate both locally and nationally.

Urban Asset Builders, Inc.

Get Money Smart Atlanta (GMSA) is affiliated with Money Smart Week® and is a collaborative effort to keep the weeks financial literacy awareness efforts going year round.

The collaborative is for Financial Educators and those in the financial services (and related) field.  Our mission is to serve as an informational resource for metro Atlantans to learn about and be connected to financial products, programs and services that are available to them in our local communities.

Money Smart Week® is a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances. This is achieved through the collaboration and coordinated effort of hundreds of organizations across the country including businesses, financial institutions, schools, libraries, not-for-profits, government agencies and the media. These groups come together once a year (usually during the month of April which is Financial Literacy Month) to stress the importance of financial literacy, inform consumers about where they can get help and provide free educational seminars and activities throughout the week. Programming is offered to all demographics and income levels and covers all facets of personal finance from establishing a budget to first time home buying to estate planning. The effort was created by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 2002. Money Smart Week partners will be hosting their events April 20 - 27, 2013.
